Prachi Dalal is a dancer and choreographer trained in Kathak, a classical dance form from northern India. She has given several performances and workshops in India and the United States at prestigious venues such as the All-India Kathak festival (Delhi), Kathak festival (Lucknow), Freer and Sackler Gallerier (Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C.), Queens Museum of Art (New York), the Engendered Festival at Lincoln Center, and the Lisner Auditorium, among others. She has had the honor to perform at the first Diwali celebrations at the White House in Washington D.C. She studied Kathak under the tutelage of Guru Madhurita Sarang. A freelance consultant and museum educator, she is committed to promoting arts, arts education, preservation and development of cultural heritage resources. She currently directs “Erasing Borders: Festival of Indian Dance” presented by the Indo-American Arts Council.
